Description:

This training is dedicated for individuals looking to systematize their knowledge of satellite communication and for organizations planning to implement such systems in their operations. Participants will become familiar with the relevant terminology, units of measurement, conversion factors, as well as key radio parameters affecting transmission quality. The course will cover the structure of satellite links and the essential components of their key elements, from types of orbits and the satellites that move within them, up to terminals used in the ground segment. The training program will also address available modem technologies, medium access control methods, types of satellite terminals and their suitability for tactical applications.

Manpack terminals: Operator’s training based on SatPack COBALT terminal.

SatPack COBALT Manpack terminal

Description: 

This training is designed for individuals seeking to acquire practical skills in operating manpack satellite terminals. Participants will focus on learning about the design and operation of the terminal, familiarizing themselves with its basic components and their functions. The course includes practical sessions on cooperating the terminal with a modem, preparing it for operation, and the theory and practice of aligning the antenna system with a satellite. At the conclusion of the training, participants will receive guidelines on safety and efficiency when working with satellite terminals. The entire training will be conducted using the SatPack COBALT backpack terminal, presenting the full modularity desired for this class of hardware solutions.

FlyAway-class terminals: Operator’s training based on SMART terminal

SMART FlyAway terminal ACU No-IDU

Description:

This training is intended for individuals interested in the practical operation and diagnostics of FlyAway class satellite terminals. Participants will learn about the design of antenna systems in this category, including IDU-ODU and No-IDU topologies, as well as the features of components such as the Antenna Control Unit (ACU). The course also includes practical sessions on preparing the terminal for operation (in 3 configurations), terminal alignment (pointing on satellite), diagnosing the antenna system using a spectrum analyzer, while ensuring operations safety and efficiency. The training will be conducted using the SMART satellite terminal as an example.

Training for operators of Tactical level SHF, portable version terminal – SatPack L-Band

SatPack L-Band Manpack terminal

Description: 

This training is dedicated for operators of the SatPack L-Band terminal who wish to acquire comprehensive knowledge in equipment operation. Participants will learn to adhere to safety regulations and use terminal documentation. The course includes preparing the terminal for operation, selecting and preparing the workspace and securing the equipment based on weather conditions. Attendees will become familiar with the built-in TDMA and SCPC modems and learn to switch configurations between X and Ku operating bands. Practical exercises will cover procedures such as performing a LINE-UP, configuration and diagnosing satellite connections, adjusting modem parameters, connecting to various power sources and the edge devices, together with conducting diagnostic and maintenance procedures before transporting and storing the terminal.

Training for service technicians of Tactical Level SHF, Portable Version Terminal – SatPack L-Band

SatPack L-Band Manpack terminal

Description: 

This training is dedicated to service technicians of the SatPack L-Band terminal who seek comprehensive knowledge in equipment operation and servicing procedures. The training program covers all topics addressed in the Tactical Level SHF, Portable Satellite Terminal Technician Training – SatPack L-Band and extends it with additional knowledge on verifying terminal functionality, utilizing specialized tools, materials and testing equipment. Training topics will include diagnosing and repairing faults up to second-level, performing routine maintenance procedures and proper storage of the equipment. Additionally, participants will learn the procedures for submitting equipment for warranty and post-warranty service, ensuring effective and professional maintenance of satellite terminals.

SKYWAN 5G Training – Station Commissioning (9140)

Description:

This training is dedicated for users interested in acquiring knowledge on preparing and launching the SKYWAN station within the SKYWAN network, and conducting station-level tests. The course covers installing the SKYWAN indoor unit, configuring the SKYWAN IDU with predefined parameter sets, performing station functionality tests and monitoring the necessary parameters for proper station operation (including using IDU Expert Mode / CLI). Advanced troubleshooting procedures are also covered. The training concludes with an assessment exercise compliant with course requirement number 9140. Training participants will receive a certificate based on the exclusive representation agreement between NDSatCom and GISS in the Polish market.

SKYWAN 5G Training – Network Commissioning & Operation (9240)
